The American Advertising Awards Competition Closes January 10th, 2021
Fort Myers, FL, December 31, 2020—Excellence in the art of advertising creative will once again be rewarded in Southwest Florida as the American Advertising Federation-Southwest Florida (AAF-SWFL) holds the American Advertising Awards competition for produced advertising work that ran in 2020. Advertising agencies, freelance creatives, in-house corporate creative teams, and advertisers can enter their best work of the year at aafswfl.com. Deadline for entries is January 10, 2021.
Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the American Advertising Awards is the largest advertising competition in the nation, with an average of 35,000 entries received each year. The local ad club phase is the first of the three-tier, national competition. Concurrently, across the country, local entrants vie to win an ADDY® award—recognition as the very best in their markets. At the second tier, local ADDY winners compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 17 district competitions. District ADDY winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national stage of the American Advertising Awards. Entry in the AAF-SWFL competition is the first step toward winning a national ADDY.
Entering the American Advertising Awards supports the entire advertising industry. AAF-SWFL uses the proceeds to enhance advertising through programs such as public service, internships, advocacy groups, advertising education, and consumer awareness.

Entries are now being accepted for the competition through January 10, 2021. Entry fees are as follows:
- Single Entry, AAF Member $105,
- Single Entry, Non-Member $175,
- Campaign Entry, Member $155,
- Campaign Entry, Non-Member $225,
- Student – Single or Campaign Entry, $50.
All entries can be submitted at aafswfl.com. Hard copies of entry materials may be picked up by an AAF-SWFL board member upon request or dropped off at the January 8, 2021 Friday@4 event from 4-6 p.m. at Buffalo Wings and Rings at 11751 S. Cleveland Ave, Fort Myers, FL 33907.
Prior to announcing the winners, join AAF-SWFL for Gallery Night, an opportunity for peers to view the work from this year’s competition and vote for the People’s Choice ADDY. It will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 at Suncoast Credit Union Arena above Crowther Court from 5:30-7 p.m.
The 2021 American Advertising Awards Gala will be held on February 20, 2021 at the Caloosa Sound Convention Center in Downtown Fort Myers. The event gets underway at 6 p,m, with cocktails and the 2020 ADDY winners show will begins at 7 p.m.
